What is Contend Music?

Contend Music is a Christian Record Label based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.  We are a group of musicians, songwriters, worship leaders, and producers on a mission to create new, creative songs for Jesus while simultaneously encouraging the local Church through our concerts.

We are a diverse group of individuals (Non-Denom Protestantism, Charismatic Christianity, Roman Catholicism, etc.) and long to see unity in the Body of Christ.  Only when we work together as one Body will we be effective in changing our cities and communities for Jesus (John 17:21, 1 Corinthians 12: 12-26).

We support and promote our own songwriters and artists (known as Contend Artists), while simultaneously connecting and supporting others in Indianapolis who share a similar heart and vision.  "Why not here in Indy?" We dream of Indianapolis becoming a new hub for Christian Music and Worship (like Nashville TN, Redding CA, etc) and partner with those, both in-house and outside Contend, who share this same dream and calling.

We yearn to see young people and the disenfranchised come back into relationship with God.  "Who will contend for this generation" is the question that drives us to do what we do.  Young people are leaving Christianity in the United States in record numbers (see Barna Research, www.barna.com) while the Christian Music Industry continues to create worship music tailored towards older Christians.  We strive to do whatever it takes to reach Gen Y/Z for the Lord.  Authenticity, both in our music and in the stories we share at our shows, is the core of what we do.
